Yesterday’s Cator Annual Private Family Shoot on their estate at Woodbastwick, Norfolk was one of excitement and trepidation. Harriet Cator (47 years), took on her uncle Albemarle Cator (71 years) in their annual family competition.
The pair are regularly in competition with each other, and battled it out to win the ‘Family Trap Cup,’ in front of friends and family. Albemarle triumphed as victor of the coveted cup, raising it high above his head in a moment of achievement against his niece. Harriet graciously accepted defeat and congratulated her uncle on his win of 62 shots to 56, a respectable win.
Harriet began the competition strong, only missing her third and seventh shot. However, her string of positive hits declined as she began making regular errors. As Albemarle approached the shooting stand, he oozed confidence and his true competitive nature shone through as he took his first few shots.
After a weak beginning, he completed his rounds positively, building momentum and matching Harriet’s score by 59. Both achieved respectable scores overall, that any Shooting Club would be pleased to boast about in their league.
