Shooting season is upon us again for those in rural communities such as Norfolk, with shooters donning their tweed outfits, polishing up their gun and filling their hipflasks with the seasonal tipple. Ali Clarke, 35, from Little Plumstead Norfolk, pats his dog Diesel before she is given the order to fetch the fallen wildfowl and bring it back to her master. Tia is a spaniel and has a natural talent for her searching and retrieving when shot birds plummet to the ground. She happily roams open countryside and has an instinct for honing in on the fowl and returning it upon command. “She knows what to do and how to do it,” says Ali. “She’s a natural and really enjoys it.” The season lasts another 5 months, and brings in huge numbers of shooters to the Norfolk area to practice and enjoy their shooting skills.
