A Disabilities Assistance member of staff from London National East Railway service yesterday was unexpectedly seen traveling from London to Cambridge on their 14.39 service to Kings Lynn. Assistance staff have a station based role, rarely seen on the busy commuter lines of London’s busiest train station. Known to his colleagues as, ‘Mr Bean’, Joe from Hertfordshire was assisting a passenger when the doors to the train surprisingly closed 2 minutes earlier from departure, resulting in his departure from London Kings Cross. Joe commented: “I had to remove my high vis jacket and became a passenger for the next few hours. The countryside was really scenic and it was nice to see my house.” His manager commented that it was a rare occurrence and Joe was advised what to do at the time.
